Guide for Youth

Can YOUth be Teachers?!?

"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains.

The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." William Arthur Ward

As a New Leader in your school, community and world, you will be required to thoughtfully and skillfully build community and facilitate discussions with your friends, other students and all sorts of adults.  No one will give you the “right” questions to ask, and they won’t tell you how to engage the people you want to work with.

As you think about your role as a leader, list some attributes of these different kinds of leadership roles.

Here's a list of different people who might be in your life.  Think about those people you know, and others, and write about their characteristics.  If you don't know anyone who fits into one of these titles, imagine a person in that role.  Are all of these people leaders?
