Guide for Youth
Simple Strategies for Involving Youth
Think about your
friends: Who are they? What are they interested in? Why
should they be involved in your project?
Share that
same information about yourself with them!

Have fun and
laugh together!
Ask questions if
you don’t understand what another person is saying.
Listen to other
people without making judgements.
Be yourself.
Be honest.
Remember that
YOU are young too! You don’t have to act like an adult. How do
adults treat you? Do you treat your peers like that?
Use your
role models as examples.
Why are you doing the work you're
doing? Look at the reasoning and explore it, and be honest
about it. Tell your assumptions to everyone you meet, and let
them know that you are there to learn!
