Youth Voice Activities

"Only through action do words take power." - Freechild Project motto

The Freechild Project defines Youth Voice as the active, distinct, and concentrated ways young people represent themselves throughout society.

Buckminster Fuller once said, "If you want to change how someone thinks, give up. You cannot change the way people think. Instead, give people tools that help them do something different." As you read this you are likely a youth activist or an adult ally who really cares about young people. You read a lot of the the different parts of the Youth Voice Toolbox and you think you're  ready. But what now?

Take Action

The activities in the Youth Voice Action Kit were designed to train youth and adults about the knowledge and wisdom of young people today, and how young people can be actively, meaningfully, and powerfully. Created by The Freechild Project's trainers, these learning opportunities were designed and tested with thousands of young people and adult allies across the country, and have been used successfully with a wide variety of participants. We are providing them here free to encourage the growth of the Youth Voice movement, as well as to encourage ongoing usage of The Freechild Project website.

If you choose to use these activities please give credit to Freechild, including our name and website address - it's the only way we'll grow.
