Young People and Globalization
Since
before the Seattle Anti-Globalization Protests
of 1999 young people have become increasingly interested and
involved in international relations. Sometimes this has been
negative, as in Seattle, where youth activists were united with
workers around the globe to say that forms of economic
globalization promoted by the World Bank and the IMF threatens
democracy. Sometimes young people promote globalization,
particularly when it comes to culture and knowledge-sharing.
